Kill Site Surveys

Vegetation Surveys

Trees and shrubs in a 30-square meter grid area around a mountain lion kill site are measured to determine the extent of hunting success in open, edge and forest habitats.

The distance and diameter of the nearest tree to each point is measured. The distance and height of the nearest shrub to each point is also measured.

Data is used to determine if the kill occurred in an open, edge or forest habitat.
